着任のご挨拶:ヴ リンダ(Linda VU)(助教)
2025年4月3日
Hello, my name is Linda Vu, and I will be teaching at Tokyo Seitoku University this spring. I am from San Diego, California, USA, and I have been teaching English in Japan for several years. Before coming to TSU, I taught at Saitama University and Utsunomiya University, where I worked with students to improve their academic writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.
I double majored in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and Psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and later earned my master’s degree in teaching from the University of Southern California.
My research interests include トランスランゲージング (translanguaging), 英語教育 (English education), 応用言語学 (applied linguistics), and 第二言語習得 (second language acquisition). I am particularly interested in how learners develop their English proficiency and apply language skills in academic and professional settings.

I believe that language learning should be practical, engaging, and relevant to students’ experiences. Rather than being forced, it should be encouraged through meaningful interactions that help students gain confidence and develop effective communication skills. My goal is to support students in using English in ways that are useful for their academic and professional growth.
If you have any questions or need support with your studies, feel free to ask. I look forward to seeing you in class.
